It seems like yesterday, but they are gone now 14 years since I met my Master, in fact I think it is not only my Master, but the Master of Sport in Italy, to which the whole world of Sciences should say sincerely: Thanks.
A Pasquale Bellotti feci una question, front Ingenue, perhaps trivial, but at the same time mischievous, thus purpose of eliciting Who knows what secrets, certainly among those that were hidden (so I thought) in the minds of the greatest experts of human movement:
<<Professor, mi scusi, but what is the secret of sports training?>>
The Professor, after a brief reflection, mi answered simply so:
<< Common sense, common sense is the secret.>>
This response left me stunned, perplexed, in my imagination I would have expected a much more complex and the solution of the esoteric world of the gurus of sports training.
Between us fell a silence. At that moment, the presumptuous Povera, Pensions pure:
<<What kind of answer is this?!?>>
Days passed, Weeks went by and around Christmas and Master, to my great astonishment, gave me a little book, accompanying it with these words:
<< Here is kept inside all you need to know about training sports, together with the notions of some good books of physiology (in fact very few are good).>>
I unwrapped the gift and, mia with surprise, and at the same time wonder, I read the title of the book:
"The seven knowledge necessary to the education of the future" by Edgar Morin”
Inside of me I thought: mah, The seven knowledge necessary ...
<<But what needed to ?>>
What? education ?!?!?
What does all this, namely education, with sports training?!?!
I did not know and did not imagine that, shortly, reading that book would have changed, not only my vision of sports training, made test, table, technology, loads etc.., but vision of life itself.
Today, turning around to look back in time to the path of life, I realize that these are precisely episodes that do recognize a person as a Master.
Teachers who recall – is inevitable – other Masters.
Edgar Morin, French sociologist, not The head Ben made introduce a concept, I think fundamental, I would say radical and essential, that it binds well to common sense referred to by Bellotti. Serendipity.
Serendipity. Morin scrive:
"The development of general intelligence requires tying her to the operating doubt, yeast every critical activity, that, Eat indicates Juan de Mairena, allows you to "re-think the thought", but it also carries the "doubt his own doubt". Must appeal to the ars cogitandi (which includes the good use of the logic, Deduction, induction), the art of argumentation and discussion. It also involves intelligence that the Greeks called metis, "... Set of mental attitudes that combine the intuition, the sagacia, prediction, mental flexibility, the ability to cope, vigilant attention, the sense of opportunity ". Finally, we should start by Voltaire and by Conan Doyle, then examine the art of the paleontologist or scholar of prehistory, to educate:
Serendipity, art of turning seemingly insignificant details in clues that allow you to reconstruct a whole history.
Since the general good use of intelligence is necessary in all domains of the humanities and scientific culture, and of course in life, it is in these domains that you will have to emphasize the "well-thought" that does not lead to anything to become self-righteous.
The teaching of mathematics, which evidently includes calculating, will go beyond the calculation. "
I would like to add another to replace these concepts in modus operandi sports training, but obviously there is no need, perhaps because I can not comment Morin, but simply observe:
<<He who has ears to hear, !!!>>,
Allow only a small personal account, an invitation that I feel I must do:
Look out the use of technology in the sports world, it is so useful for their work, but it's still just a tool which serves as such, namely at the service of our intellect. Without the so-called common sense referred to by Pasquale Bellotti, c’è the risk of going off-road, to be duped fashions and market proposals, with the risk of ourselves become the instrument of the instrument. Forgetting, this is really serious, l’uomo, l’umano.
