Determining the type of plyometric exercise in relation to the sport practiced

The continuous research of methodological applications tailored to the specific demands of different sports, has given rise to profound reflections that, although they had found in the continuous daily application with athletes of different disciplines satisfactory answers to the questions the theoretical and the requests of various types of performance, lacked the confirmation that only an experiment carried out with criteria and scientific methods could give certainty with natural.

Nell 'Survey Plyometrics, has therefore been proven the existence of Plyometrics that, although based on the same criteria of ballistic exercises, allenanti different characteristics that are better suited to certain disciplines and not to other.

In practice, three groups of 12 subjects each and a control group were tested and then, according to the instructions of the same, have completed a period of training differentiated after which they were re-tested for any changes insurgents and to determine the particular impact of these exercises may have had on the reactivity.

The three exercises were differentiated as follows:

  • the first of the Group tested jumps ammortizzandone the fall (da Verkhoshansky).
  • the second group carried out a jump at the bottom which was followed immediately bounce upwards; the height of fall was that, determined by test, which allowed for the maximum height of rebound (Zanon is).
  • The third group carried out a jump at the bottom which was followed immediately bounce upwards; the height of fall was that, determined by test, allowing maximum power bounce (da Barba).

The test results were then subjected to statistical analysis that has occurred as such exercises had different effects on different reactive characteristics of the subjects of the three groups that can be summarized as:

  • training of the first group, the one with the lower bound amortized, does not meet the need of development of power in leaps and only partially improves the reactive force;
  • training of the second group, one called "height", does not meet the need of development of power in leaps but it develops the improvement of the reactive force;
  • training of the third group, one called "power", fully complies with the development of the power of jumps and improves the reactive force development.

The conclusions study appear to show that in sport high-level detection of specific exercises is essential for the achievement of absolute performance, together with the need for individualized training built on the characteristics of each individual.

People belonging to different disciplines where thein reactivity is expressed with different modes require specific stimuli; It is therefore appropriate that athletes who require maximum bounce heights, regardless of the power to express it allenino of drop heights which determine the maximum height of rebound.

Reference is made for example to the athletes of volleyball in the phase jump before the crushed or before making a wall, where those looking for the maximum height of jump report "meeting" with the ball and jump, then, with time support for this purpose appropriate that do not correspond to those with which express the maximum power.

By the same reasoning will be appropriate for athletes who need maximum power to be expressed during the time of contact, you allenino of drop heights that allow the expression of that power.

Reference is made for example to the athletes of obstacle courses in the landing phase that, after making the passage of the, need to express the maximum power for the advancement so that the latter takes place as quickly as possible.
